Description

ABOUT THIS COFFEE

The region of Sidamo is named for the Sidama people. The region lies in the famous Great Rift Valley of East Africa that runs through Ethiopia to the Mozambique.
The Sidama Zone has 19 distinct coffee producing districts with ideal soil and climatic conditions for the production of Arabica Coffee. This is why the coffee is the best.

Sidamo producers are known for “garden coffee” which is grown in kebeles (small villages). The coffee is planted at low density, ranging from 1000 to 1800 trees per hectare. All of the coffee produced under this system is agronomically organic – but most is not certified as such.

The coffee is roasted to Medium (City Plus) and has Apricot, Cocoa and Citrus notes and medium body. It also has mild acidity.

SWP DECAF

The Swiss Water Process (SWP) is a non-solvent method for decaffeinating unroasted coffee beans. It was introduced by Coffex in 1979, at that time, the only commercial decaffeination method that did not use solvents. The Swiss Water Process has quickly become one of the most popular methods of decaffeinating specialty coffee. It is not so called because the water itself is Swiss, but instead because the process was developed in Switzerland.
